Uterine Fibroids
Uterine fibroids are tumors that develop in the uterus that cause abnormal uterine bleeding, pelvic pain and pressure, urinary and intestinal symptoms, and complications in pregnancy.
Symptoms of fibroids
Most of the fibroids even when they are very large produce no symptoms. They are usually detected during diagnostic scans and are mostly curable. Surgical treatment remains the main treatment option for fibroids. Although fibroids have no specific symptoms, one should know when to consult the doctor. Some of the symptoms of fibroids are:-

Heavy or prolonged menstrual periods

Abnormal bleeding between menstrual periods

Pelvic pain (caused as the tumor presses on pelvic organs)

Frequent urination

Low back pain

Treatment of Fibroids
Most of the uterine fibroids are incidental findings and do not cause any major health problem. In many cases, the symptoms disappear with the help of medications, only in certain cases the surgical method is recommended. Some of the common treatment of fibroids includes:-
